21-Year-Old Faces DWI Charge After Car Crashes Up Dirt Embankment In Putnam, Sheriff Says

A 21-year-old man is facing a DWI charge after crashing his vehicle up a dirt embankment in Putnam, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department.

Putnam County 911 dispatched officers to the area of 340 Dennytown Road in the Town of Putnam Valley on the report of a one-car property damage auto accident, Putnam County Sheriffs say.

Initial on-scene investigation revealed that a vehicle had rolled onto its side after being driven into a dirt embankment, deputies say.

The vehicle’s driver, identified as Stephen Famularo, 21, of Putnam Valley was located and determined to be intoxicated, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Famularo was arrested and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for processing, where he was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or more, a misdemeanor.

Famularo was ticketed and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear at the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court on a future date.
